Treatment costs

Osteopathy is generally a private service and costs €110.00 for self-paying patients and those with private health insurance. For babies and children under 12 years of age, follow-up treatments are shorter and cost €90.00.

Payment is due after each treatment.

The treatment costs are usually partially or fully reimbursed by private health insurance, civil service aid schemes, and many supplementary insurance providers. Billing is carried out according to the German fee schedule for alternative practitioners (GebüH). A medical referral is generally not required.

Many statutory health insurance providers partially cover the costs if a medical recommendation for osteopathy is obtained before treatment. An up-to-date list can be found here.

I meet the requirements for reimbursement through my recognized osteopathy training (4,500 hours), my license as a non-medical practitioner (Heilpraktiker), and my membership in the professional association for pediatric osteopathy (hpO).

Currently, osteopathy is not an independent profession in Germany, but it is considered part of medical practice and may only be performed by physicians and licensed non-medical practitioners. Therefore, when choosing an osteopath, attention should be paid to adequate training. The training should consist of at least four years full-time or five years part-time.

Any difference between the amount reimbursed by your insurance and my fee must be covered by you. For this reason, I kindly ask all patients to clarify possible reimbursement with their health insurance provider before starting treatment so that I can issue my invoice correctly.
